A 2mm Flower
My first proper try at Macro Photography, I wanted to take a picture of the little things in nature that often go unnoticed. I started paying attention to Macro Photography after I saw some of Shannon Heng's work in Singapore. This miniature budding flower was around 2mm in width and took me quite a few tries to get both the lighting and focus right. But the result was something that you wouldn't be able to see otherwise.

The Thinker
I took this at Lalbagh botanical garden during an early morning visit. I noticed this bird on the edge of the lake that sat in this position. The way it was positioned was very reminiscent of the Rodin, otherwise known as, The Thinker as the bird sat there looking like it was pondering how its day should go.

Side-Eye
Lalbagh lake is home to several species of birds and other animals, among them is this duck with a red frill, that went about swimming in circles while it kept looking to its right the whole time. I do not have much experience or knowledge about birds or animals, so I, unfortunately, do not know what species this is, nor the reason for this erratic behavior, but I still found it a rather interesting sight to witness.

The Three Ducks
Part 1 of a two-part photograph, this group of three were constantly following each other on the Lalbagh lake. They seemed very much like best friends and accompanied each other on the lake.

Breaking Away from the Group
Part 2 of the two-part photograph, after a good half an hour of swimming together, one of the ducks decided to stop being a third wheel for the other two. The other two went on ahead with each other for the remainder of the time, while this one broke away and swam to the other side of the lake.

Odin's Raven
Odin the king of Asgard had two infamous and majestic Ravens that were always perched on his side, watching everything. Seeing this Raven sitting on the Sakura tree and watching everything below reminded me of that and coaxed me to take this picture. It never made a sound. It just sat there, watching.

Can't See Eye-To-Eye
After visiting the museum of art and science in Singapore, I took a little rest near a fountain which was then my eye caught these two pigeons sitting beside each other. What struck me was that they didn't face each other, much like a couple after fighting. The difference between them and the stance made them seem like rivals posing in a drama.

In Search For Food
This little squirrel who I nicknamed Valentine kept accompanying me while I was out in search photographs. It seemed like he was in search of food because he kept nibbling at every little object that he got his hands on. Nevertheless, I decided to photograph him for his efforts as he stopped to nibble on a flower.

Monet's Garden
During my trip to Paris I had the opportunity to visit the house of the artist Monet and learn about his art and inspirations.
This is a picture from the Japanese garden Monet grew, from which drew most of his inspiration from, especially to paint his water lilies.

The Alley
Taken at Sentosa island, Singapore somewhere around midnight, this alley emitted a very eerie feeling from it. With its dimly lit lights and darkness at the end of its length, it felt like a scene from a horror movie where some shadowy figure would appear in it. Nighttime in alleyways gives a very different vibe from the daytime.

The beautiful skyline of one of the most bustling cities in the world, I took this picture at sunset from the top of the luxurious Marina Bay Sands. It gives you a real feeling of the metropolitan city, a few minutes before the city lit up with artificial lights. Truly a mesmerising view.

Over The Wall
Part 1 of 2 of photographs inspired by photographer Ben Thomas. His style of photography is very unique mainly due to his use of colours. The shadows are very minimal in his photos, and the colors are mostly a unique shade of pink, yellow, or blue. I tried to get as close to his style as possible and this was the resulting picture.

Smiling Woman
This lovely lady agreed to pose for me while I was roaming about searching for documentary photographs. It is one of the few close-up portraits I've done of people.

Working Tirelsessly
While passing by a construction site I wanted to take a sort of documentary-style photograph of the workers doing manual labour. It was then I came across this lovely kind old lady who allowed me to take her photo. She went about her work as usual, which was lifting and moving sacks of cement and rocks from place to place. Her back was always hunched from this and I managed to take this right as she was lifting one of the heavy sacks, capturing her struggle on her face and in her eyes.

Mother And Daughter
This picture was captured on Singapore's infamous Orchard Street. Near the Ion Mall on the street, one can find this lovely archway, lit up with light and decorated with roses and other flowers. Many people would run under the archway filled with excitement and wonder. I wanted to capture one of those moments and took this, a mother and her daughter who skipped along the tunnel with joy.

Reflecting
This photo was taken at the waterfront promenade during my trip to Singapore. Its a popular tourist spot for pictures, but I was lucky because I managed to get a shot with this old man. He looked like he was sitting and enjoying a rest, almost like he was reflecting on something, adding two types of reflections in this photo.

Artisan
Taken at Chinatown, Singapore, an artisan worked his craft. Next to a small porcelain bowl stall, a watchmaker had set up his stand. Not only did he sell watches, but fixed them in mere minutes. Watching him fix one of the watches was truly mesmerising, which was when I took this photo of a man who was fully invested in his craft.

The Florist at the Marketplace
During a visit to K.R Market, a boy handed me and my friend a flower. He said that he would help his father sell flowers every day in the market and offered us some. His felt very void, with an expression of mild amusement which I tried to capture here.

Late
A picture of my classmate Vibha that was taken while trying to get to class. The aim was to capture a background motion blur in the shot.

Wrinkled Face
This old man approached me in K.R Market for a picture when he saw me roaming about with a camera. The wrinkles on his face gave it an incredible look, and he never smiled once as this seemed to be the most natural face that he could make.

Vegetable Vendor
Also shot in K.R Market, this vendor told me about his daily routine. Much like all the others, he sits around with his produce waiting for someone to buy from him. The early mornings are rather slow for him so he sits there until rush hour waiting for customers, often nodding off to sleep while in that position.

Satisfied Workers
This picture was also taken at K.R Market during one of my early morning visits. I went at a rather good time as they had just finished unloading the produce from trucks. I took this shot of three workers who had just finished unloading a full truck by themselves, their faces full of satisfaction.

Paddle
This photo was taken at Ulsoor lake in Bangalore. A neat little photograph of the Kayakers on the lake taken just before sunset.
